As a preferred provider, we have agreed fees with nib and CBHS for routine preventive dental care. For eligible members, your fund’s benefit covers the full fee for a check-up and clean at our practice, so there is no out-of-pocket cost for those services.

- A professional scale and clean to remove plaque and tartar build-up

- A discussion of what your dentist found, plus tips for caring for your teeth at home
Who Is Eligible
- Members of nib or CBHS, or of a health insurance brand underwritten by nib (listed below)
- An appropriate level of extras (general dental) cover
- Any relevant waiting periods already served
- Enough annual limit left for these services
Terms and Conditions
The no gap check-up and clean is available to eligible nib, CBHS and nib partner brand members with an appropriate level of extras cover, subject to waiting periods and annual limits. It covers a routine examination, scale and clean only. X-rays and any further treatment are charged separately. Using your extras benefits reduces the amount available for other services in your benefit year. Please check your cover with your health fund before your appointment. What Happens at a Dental Check-up and Clean
A check-up gives your dentist a chance to look for early signs of tooth decay, gum disease and other changes in your mouth. Many of these are easier to manage when found early. How often you need a check-up depends on your oral health, and your dentist will recommend a suitable interval for you.
During a scale and clean, we remove hardened plaque (tartar) that can’t be removed by brushing alone. If you’ve noticed bleeding gums when brushing, let your dentist know at your appointment.

Is the check-up and clean really no gap?
Yes, for eligible members. If you’re with nib, CBHS or a health insurance brand underwritten by nib, and you have an appropriate level of extras cover, served waiting periods and enough annual limit left, there is no out-of-pocket cost for a routine check-up and clean.
Which nib partner brands are included?
Apia, AAMI, Suncorp, Qantas, ING, Real Insurance, Australian Seniors, GU Health, IMAN Australian Health Plans and UnitedHealthcare Global. These brands are underwritten by nib.
Do I need to bring my health fund card?
Yes. Please bring your card so we can claim through HICAPS at the end of your appointment.
Does using my benefits affect my annual limits?
Yes. Any benefit paid for your check-up and clean comes off your annual extras limit, leaving less available for other dental services in that benefit year. Your health fund can tell you how much you have left.
What if I need X-rays or treatment?
Your dentist will explain what they recommend and why, and give you a cost estimate before anything goes ahead. X-rays and further treatment are separate from the no gap check-up and clean and may have a gap.
Can my children use the offer?
Children listed on an eligible nib, CBHS or nib partner policy can use the offer, subject to the same conditions. Some children may also be eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule. Ask our team which option suits your family.
