Aside from strengthening a damaged tooth, a Dental Crown can be used to improve the appearance, shape and alignment of the tooth.
When cemented into place, a Dental Crown fully encases the entire visible portion of the tooth that lies above the gum. There are several types of Dental Crowns that can be used; these include ceramic, porcelain, resin, and stainless steel.
A Crown can also be placed on an implant helping to provide a tooth-like shape and structure which assists in function.
