bruxism, or occlusal splint

What is Bruxism?

Bruxism is the habit of excessive teeth grinding and jaw clenching.

Normally, your teeth should only touch briefly when swallowing or chewing. If your teeth are in contact too often or too forcefully, it tends to wear down the tooth enamel.

What is a Bruxism Splint?

A bruxism, or occlusal splint is a removable appliance which is carefully moulded to fit your jaw and tooth line.

The device is worn at night to reduce the amount of grinding pressure. It offers relief for the muscles of the jaw and protection of the teeth from premature wear and breakage.
